A little about
Me.

Michael Prouty

(he/him)

Hi there! I'm Michael, a Bay Area native and a global leader with over 20 years of experience in technology.

As a technology leader, I have extensive experience in enterprise service management, business applications, software development, product management, project management, and operations. I'm passionate about creating innovative solutions that solve complex problems and drive business results - skilled in implementing best practices, driving process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction, and leading cross-functional teams to successful project completion. I have a proven track record of delivering complex projects and exceeding business objectives, managing budgets, and driving initiatives to successful completion while building high-performing teams by empowering team members through autonomy and support, mentorship, appreciation, and servant leadership. I'm a Champion of diversity, inclusion, and equity and an advocate of flexible work that prioritizes health and wellness.

As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I empathize with the challenges of expressing oneself fully in the workplace. Having experienced the struggle of not being my authentic self at work for years, I'm committed to ensuring others have a place to bring their whole selves. Creating inclusive environments where everyone feels comfortable being themselves is essential.

As someone who is #MadeByDyslexia, I've learned to approach problem-solving, assessing information, and learning uniquely, allowing me to excel in my field. My dyslexic thinking has allowed me to approach challenges uniquely, often leading to creative and effective solutions. Diverse perspectives lead to better outcomes, and I strive to create an environment where everyone's ideas are valued.

Dyslexic thinking, recognized by LinkedIn as a valuable skill and defined by Dictionary.com as involving pattern recognition, spatial reasoning, lateral thinking, and interpersonal communication, has become my second nature. It's helped me develop a holistic approach to technology that considers not only a project's technical aspects but also the human side of things.

I hold two Associate in Applied Science Degrees from Heald College, one in Computer Technology and the other in Networking Technology. I'm also an active tech community member, regularly attending webinars to share my knowledge and learn from others. I'm excited to continue making a difference in the world of technology.

Some fun facts about me - I'm a triplet, I've jumped out of a plane before, and I've lost over 100 pounds on my fitness journey. Being a triplet taught me from a young age that it is ok to seek help from others and the importance of partnership and collaboration, which I've carried throughout my career. As for jumping out of a plane - skydiving was an exhilarating adventure that taught me the importance of getting out of my comfort zone. Finally, my fitness journey has been a long road, but it's taught me the importance of discipline and self-care.

When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family, friends, and partner - often and affectionally referred to by my nieces and nephews as uncle Mikey or 'Monkey'. My partner René and I often go for an outdoor walk or hike, explore new restaurants, or visit local coffee shops with friends to unwind. There's something about getting out in nature or discovering a new favorite spot that refreshes the mind and spirit.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better!

- Michael
